Tavistock Veterinarians win award
In the Spring of 2008 Tavistock
Veterinarians was awarded the 2008 Agricultural Award of Excellence:
Large Agriculture Business
The Oxford County Federation of
Agriculture recognizes excellence in farm operations and Agribusiness
through its Agricultural Awards of excellence. This award is for
companies with more then 10 full time employees. We were honoured to
accept this award.

Dr. Wayne Shewfelt Honoured Bovine
Practitioner of the Year
Dr.
Wayne Shewfelt was honoured at the American Association of Bovine Practitioners
(AABP) conference in September 2007 Vancouver as Bovine Practitioner of the
Year.
Dr. Wayne Shewfelt was nominated by his peers and
is only the 3rd Canadian and second Ontario recipient of this award. Wayne is
known as being very proactive with new initiatives and new technologies in dairy
health management.
Wayne is also known as a mentor for many vet
students. For years Wayne has thrived in helping vet students further their
learning in dairy health management. He takes pride in his role of training
future veterinarians. This past year Dr. Shewfelt became board certified in
dairy medicine while carrying out his full workload and on-call schedule at
Tavistock Veterinarians. It took him 3 years to complete this specialty degree.
We are very proud of these accomplishments.

Our newly hired vet, Dr. Aimee Porter
Dr. Porter completed her externship with Tavistock Veterinarians in the
summer of 2008. In May 2009 she joined the Tavistock Veterinarians team to
work with small animals.

both small and large animals.
